[Spoilers ahead for Criminal Minds Season 14]
CBS released a new teaser for the upcoming season of Criminal Minds in mid-December 2019, and it gives us an idea of what to expect from the show’s final episode. From the sound of things, the Chameleon is back, since Rossi is talking about someone who “has no true identity.” Plus, it seems that J.J. is in big trouble. In the short video, Reid asks “J.J., what’s your location? J.J., do you copy? and then it appears as if J.J. is shot.
Showrunner Erica Messer also told TVLine that we’ll get some resolution to that J.J.-Reid drama from the end of season 14. While both were being held captive by an UnSub, J.J. confessed her feelings to her fellow agent, but she later claimed she’d just said she loved him to throw their captor off. So is J.J. really in love with Reid? And if she is, what does that mean for her relationship with her husband?
“We deal with that in the first two hours of the final 10 [episodes], because that needs some explanation and some tender care really to have her be fair to everyone. I think 100% that Reid loves her, too, so that’s where it’s hard,” Messer said.
Will Reid and J.J. finally confess their love for each other or decide to remain just friends? Tune in to CBS on January 8 at 9/8c to find out.
